DANVILLE, CA — Danville is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary in style with a weekend full of festivities. Here’s what to know:
Veterans Proclamation
On July 3 at 10 a.m., the town will present a proclamation of thanks to the Veterans Service Organizations at the Veterans Memorial Building to recognize their service and sacrifice.
Parade
The Kiwanis-Danville 4th of July Parade will take place from 9 a.m. to noon along Hartz Avenue and San Ramon Valley Boulevard. More than 100 groups, including local organizations, youth groups, bands, and community leaders will take part. Members of the Danville Town Council will hand out commemorative bandanas and celebratory stickers to parade attendees while supplies last.
Parade route
The parade will begin at San Ramon Valley High School at Railroad Avenue, and end at Town and Country Drive. See here for the full map.
Choosing a spot
Sidewalk space is available on a first come, first served, basis after 6 p.m. Friday. Unattended chairs or items placed before 6 p.m. are subject to removal, and reserving spots with chalk or tape is not permitted. Handicap-accessible ramps and sidewalk access points should be kept clear. Accessible seating will be offered at the grandstand viewing area at Oak Court and San Ramon Valley Boulevard.
Street Closures
The following streets will be tentatively closed:
Through traffic may use Danville Boulevard from north of El Cerro Boulevard and San Ramon Valley Boulevard south of Sycamore Valley Road West.

Parking is available at several municipal lots, including:
Parking is expected to be limited, so parade-goers are encouraged to walk or bike. Parade-goers may consider parking at the Sycamore Park & Ride parking lot, and using the Iron Horse Trail to walk downtown. Accessible parking near the parade is located at the Crossroads Shopping Center at Hartz Way and San Ramon Valley Boulevard. A golf cart shuttle will be available to take visitors from the Crossroads Shopping Center to the viewing area.
Pets
Due to heat, noise, and the presence of young children, non-service animals are not advised.
Refreshments
Vendors are not allowed. Parade-goers are advised to bring their own food and drink.
