DANVILLE, CA — A SWAT Team responded to a domestic disturbance call in Danville Tuesday, town spokesperson Heather Tiernan confirmed.
On Tuesday at around 2:35 p.m., the Danville Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on San Thomas Way, Tiernan said. The suspect inside the residence refused to speak to officers, and was reported to be in possession of a firearm.
Negotiators from the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office and SWAT Team responded to the scene. Witnesses reported a large convoy of law enforcement and armored vehicles traveling down I-680.
The suspect later exited the house and surrendered without incident, Tiernan said. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence.
Police continue to investigate and said Thursday they will not release any new information.
