DANVILLE, CA — The Danville-based San Ramon Valley Little League team won the Northern California regional tournament, bringing them one step closer to the Little League World Series. This marks the first time since 1993 that a SRVLL 12U won a state title.
On Thursday, the team defeated El Dorado Hills 12-2 in Chico to win the NorCal tournament for players up to 12 years old. They'll compete Aug. 9 at the West Region tournament in San Bernardino against championship teams from Southern California, Hawaii, and Arizona. If they win, they qualify for the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, two Tri-Valley teams have already qualified for the 50/70 Intermediate World Series in Livermore, and will face off against each other Monday. On Sunday at Max Baer Park in Livermore, District 57 champions Bollinger Canyon Little League defeated Bayshore Little League from Tampa 7-4, meaning they will face West Region champion Granada Little League.
