DANVILLE, CA — Judy Lloyd, who served as President and CEO of the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce from 2020 to 2024, was appointed as a Commissioner to the California Fair Political Practices Commission by the office of State Controller Malia Cohen.
The five-member commission is responsible for administering and enforcing California's Political Reform Act, including laws governing campaign finance, conflicts of interest, lobbying, and governmental ethics.
Lloyd has served a number of political appointments. In 1985, President Ronald Reagan appointed her to the Department of Agriculture, and in 2001, President George W. Bush appointed her to the Department of Labor, where she served until 2006. In 2005, California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed her as an alternate member of the California Coastal Commission, and from 2015 to 2020, Lloyd represented the communities of Alamo, Diablo, Danville, and San Ramon as a senior district representative for then-State Sen. Steve Glazer.
In addition to leading the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce, Lloyd has served on a number of local boards and committees, including the Three Valleys Community Foundation, the Exchange Club of the San Ramon Valley, and the Facilities Advisory Committee of the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. In 2020, she was inducted into the Contra Costa Women's Hall of Fame.
"I am honored to join the Fair Political Practices Commission and grateful to State Controller Malia M. Cohen for the opportunity to serve," Lloyd said. "I look forward to working with my fellow Commissioners and FPPC staff to support the Commission's important work and uphold California's commitment to transparency and accountability in government."
