If students do not feel comfortable in their attire, they cannot attend to the learning task.

Assistance League® Diablo Valley’s Operation School Bell®- Clothing is a nationally acclaimed, hands-on philanthropic program that serves school- children in our local community.

Throughout the months of September and October, Operation School Bell volunteers are on hand at Burlington, Pleasant Hill to greet elementary school students who, in turn, enjoy a shopping spree to select that perfect look for the 2024-2025 schoolyear. Funded by Assistance League Thrift Shop in Lafayette, this year alone, Operation School Bell-Clothing has appropriated $125 for each recipient. Upon arrival, a colorful bracelet is issued to each of them for identification purposes.

In record time and with parental input, the young shoppers presented their finds to Operation School Bell volunteers with a sense of pride and a “…now we’re ready!” smile.
