Assisteens, Diablo Valley Make Happiness Happen!

These energetic gamechangers have made a profound impact on the community!

Assisteens® Auxiliary is a nonprofit, volunteer organization comprised of 60 teenagers in grades 7 through 12, who strive to learn the value of volunteering, as well as developing leadership and organizational skills. Under the guideline of the national organization and Assistance League® Diablo Valley chapter, members select their own philanthropic programs and raise the funds necessary to implement them, while supporting chapter programs and its primary fundraiser, Assistance League Thrift Shop, in Lafayette.

Established in 1977, the Assisteens Auxiliary continues to put caring and commitment into action by

· hosting two holiday parties for elementary schoolchildren

· providing snack packs and warmth packs for homeless teens

· sending note cards to homebound seniors

· labeling gift books for schoolchildren

· hosting four interactive events for seniors at a local care facility

· shopping for clothing for homeless youth

· assembling boxes of food for our chapter’s weekend program

· hosting the Assisteens Annual Fashion Show and Tea, which

supports philanthropic programs in Contra Costa County

· and staffing every Saturday at the Assistance League Thrift Shop.
