Beefed Up Police Patrols Lead to Arrest of Burglary Suspect

The Castro Valley man was arrested in Danville and booked into Martinez Detention Facility.

DANVILLE, CA- Danville police on Wednesday advised locals of a recent uptick in property crime on the heels of an arrest of a man who allegedly possessed burglary tools and other illegal items, police said. After a “significant increase” in property crime over the past year, police said, extra officers are patrolling areas in Danville that are likely to be targeted.

Police said one of those extra officers on Tuesday at 4:06 a.m. arrested a 24-year-old man after a traffic stop on counts of possessing burglary tools, a dagger, drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. Police identified the suspect as Micah Casey, of Castro Valley.

He was booked into Martinez Detention Facility. Police said they were “working very hard” to curb Danville’s increasing crime rate. Locals can help that effort, police said, by “keeping a watchful eye on your neighborhoods.”
