Boys golf: End of the Line For MV, SRV Golfers

Monday's North Coast Section Tournament of Champions served as the final event of the year for San Ramon Valley's Harrison Quinlan and Monte Vista's Kyle Bowser.

Bowser shot a 5-over par, 77, and Quinlan shot a 15-over, 87, at Baywood Golf and Country Club in Arcata. Playing as individuals after their teams were eliminated at the NCS South Qualifier on May 17, they would have needed to shoot 72 to advance to the Northern California Championships.

De La Salle's Johny De Los Reyes, who also was the low score at the South Qualifier, shot a 67 to earn medalist honors. Cal's Justin Haley finished second.

Foothill (372), De La Salle (382) and Cardinal Newman (393) are advancing as teams. Amador Valley also shot a 393, but because Newman's sixth individual score was lower than the Dons' sixth score, it won the tiebreaker.
