Busy Danville Road Reopens Following Fatal Crash
BREAKING: The driver died after hitting a utility pole near Monte Vista High School.

DANVILLE, CA — A busy Danville road reopened early this morning after it was closed due to a fatal collision, police officials said. Stone Valley Road was closed for hours after a car crashed into a utility pole near Monte Vista High School late Tuesday morning. No other vehicles were involved in the wreck. The road reopened this morning just before 5:30 a.m.
The collision was reported in the area of Stone Valley Road near Monte Sereno Drive at 10:37 a.m. More than PG&E 100 customers in the area were without power for several hours as a result of the wreck.
"The driver was traveling east when he crashed into a utility pole in front of Monte Vista High School," Danville Police Chief Allan Shields said in a statement. "The driver was seriously injured in the crash and was transported by paramedics from the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District to Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead."
