CC United Water Polo Team wins Silver in California Cup State Championships

The CC United Under 12 boys water polo team takes home the silver this past weekend in the California Cup State Championship tournament.

The CC United Under 12 boys water polo team takes home the silver this past weekend in the California Cup State Championship tournament. Led by club founder, Kirk Jensen and based in Lafayette, boys from San Ramon, Danville, Alamo, Berkeley and Walnut Creek trek out to Moraga daily for the opportunity to play for his team.

This tournament is held in both Northern and Southern California with top teams traveling to the East Bay to compete in this elite meet. CC United was undefeated going into the championship meet with wins against San Clemente Tritons (17-6), Foothill (16-10), ORWP Glendale (15-6), Mid Valley (8-7).

They fought hard for the gold against powerhouse club SOCAL, and ultimately brought home the silver (3-5).

“This is a great and tough group of boys,” said Coach Jensen after the final game. ”They will go far as they continue to sharpen their focus (on the Junior Olympics later this summer).”
