Charges Filed in Connection with Diablo Vista Park Sexual Attack

Danville Police said charges were filed Tuesday against a 66-year-old man in connection with the sexual battery of a 14-year-old girl in last week.

Lieutenant Jeff Moule said Natesan Arumugam, an Indian national visiting relatives in Danville, was arrested Friday following a search of the neighborhood around the park.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s office on Tuesday filed charges of lewd and lascivious conduct and sexual battery against Arumugam. 

The charges stem from an incident last Thursday, in which a 14-year-old girl reported being grabbed while walking in the park and then touched on her chest in an inappropriate manner.

Arumugam is being held on a $25,000 bond at the Martinez jail.
