Fatal Danville Crash: Woman Charged With 2 Murder Counts

The wrong-way crash occurred in the early hours of June 7 and killed two people. Driving under the influence is suspected.

DANVILLE, CA — A Concord woman is facing murder charges after a wrong-way crash on I-680 in Danville that left two dead and is suspected to be the result of driving under the influence.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office filed murder charges against Camille V. Kimball, 27, on Tuesday. She faces two counts of murder, two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, one count of driving under the influence of alcohol and causing injury, and one count of driving with a blood-alcohol content of at least .08 percent and causing injury.

Kimball was driving her 2020 Ford Fusion southbound in the northbound lanes of I-680 near El Pintado Road in Danville around 3:45 a.m. on June 7, according to the California Highway Patrol. She crashed into a 2012 Honda Civic driven by Nettie Perkett, 46, of Antioch, with Taurean Lee, 26, of Antioch in her passenger's seat, CHP said.

The women were co-workers. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Kimball was taken to Walnut Creek's John Muir Medical Center for treatment and was arrested.

Her bail is set at $2.6 million, according to the district attorney's office.
