Contra Costa County Wants Your Photos, And Voter Turnout
Contra Costa County wants to showcase its beautiful flora and fauna, and get people to vote.
CONTRA COSTA, CA — Contra Costa County is inviting photographers of all ages and skill levels to participate in its "Voter Information Guide Photo Contest." The competition's theme is “Flora and Fauna of Contra Costa County.”
The first-place winner’s pic will be printed on the cover of the March 2020 Contra Costa Voter Information Guide, which is mailed to over 650,000 voters. The second-place winner's photo will be featured on the county's website, and the third-place winner will be featured on the cover of the county's Candidate Guide.
Photograph entries will be judged on expression of theme, technical execution, originality and composition. The photo description factors into 25 percent of the scoring, according to the county.

A complete application includes:
- A tiff or jpeg file of your digital photo, 300 dpi preferred (must be at least 150 dpi), and
- A completed 2020 Digital Photo Contest Submission Form including a photo description (of 100 words or less).
The photo size is 5.75” x 3.1875”; larger photos will be cropped. Photos must be digital but can be in either color or black and white.

Photos can be submitted until midnight on September 30. Send submissions to Outreach@vote.cccounty.us and include “Photo Contest entry” in the subject line.
