'Cooling Centers' Open During Danville Heat Wave
For your pets? There is a site for them, as well, during the sizzling holiday weekend.

DANVILLE, CA – Three "cooling centers" will be open over the weekend in Danville as temperatures are projected to hit as high as 108 degrees.
Residents, particularly seniors, are invited to use Town of Danville facilities to help stay cool in the extreme heat.

The sites are:
- Danville Community Center, 420 Front St: 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 1
- Danville Public Library, 400 Front St: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept.1-2
- Danville Senior Center, 111 E. Prospect Ave: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, 2017
Residents with no access to air conditioning are encouraged to use the centers as a means of staying cool, town officials said. In the high heat, residents are reminded to limit outdoor activities when possible, stay hydrated and be watchful for signs of heat-related illness.
