Police said the woman, who painted a beard on her face as a disguise, is suspected of robbing the Bank of the West in Danville.
DANVILLE, CA — Police have arrested a Danville woman who allegedly robbed the Bank of the West on Diablo Road Tuesday morning. Town of Danville officials said Danville resident Jennifer Rae McClary, 36, who had what appeared to be a painted-on beard, entered the bank just after 9 a.m. and gave the teller a demand note. No weapon was seen during the robbery, according to police.
McClary fled the building and was last seen on foot headed north on El Pintado Road. Nearby San Ramon Valley Christian Academy was placed on precautionary lockdown due to the police activity. The lockdown has since been lifted.
"An investigation of the incident by Danville Police detectives led to McClary’s arrest," town officials said in a statement.
