Danville Celebrates First Health & Wellness Day On The Green

The Chamber of Commerce event featured local celebrities, fitness and wellness demonstrations, and more.

DANVILLE, CA — Danville residents and businesses celebrated wellness Saturday at the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce’s first Health & Wellness Day on the Green.

Guests were able to learn about 29 local wellness-related businesses and nonprofits. They were also able to take three different free fitness classes, consult with a local dermatologist, enjoy healthy treats from the Old Towne Danville Bakery, watch live martial arts and dance demonstrations, and more.

The event also featured Brodie Brazil, host of the Oakland A’s & Sharks Pre-game and Post-game Live on NBC Sports California, and a taped interview with Danville resident Stephen Piscotty, who has played baseball with the Oakland A’s, San Francisco Giants, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, and St. Louis Cardinals.

“Our Health & Wellness Day was an opportunity to enjoy a gorgeous fall day learning about resources available from 29 businesses, based in and around the Danville Area,” Danville Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Judy Lloyd told Patch in an email.

“Businesses on site explored new cross-marketing and pop-up opportunities. The community had a chance to see three different fitness classes from Spenga, Yoga Six and Pure Barre, and enjoyed a wellness demo from La Vie MD, followed by an energetic martial arts demo from Richard Lee’s East-West Kung Fu. All in all, a great day!”
