Danville College Student Pinned By Truck 'Fighting For His Life'

Monte Vista graduate Dodge Mulock was gravely injured when a speeding truck blasted through his apartment in Utah.

DANVILLE, CA — A Danville college student is “fighting for his life” after a speeding pickup truck crashed into his bedroom.

On Nov. 27, Monte Vista graduate Dodge Mulock, 22, was sleeping in his bedroom near Utah Valley University, where he attends. A man driving a truck nearby experienced a sudden medical condition, and was rendered unconscious behind the wheel, according to a report from the Pleasant Grove Police Department. The truck eventually stopped inside Mulock’s room, pinning him between the truck and the interior wall of the home.

Police believe the crash was caused by the unusual medical accident, rather than drugs or alcohol. No deaths were reported. The entire apartment complex was deemed unsafe following the crash and all residents were evacuated, Fox13 reported.

Mulock was extricated by the fire department and airlifted to a nearby hospital. He suffered severe internal organ damage, major bone fractures, and extreme loss of blood, according to a GoFundMe set up by his family. He has also undergone multiple surgeries, and “remains in the hospital in unbearable pain facing a long and arduous recovery.”

In addition to “astronomical” medical expenses, all of Mulock’s belongings were destroyed in the accident, his family said.
