Danville Man Arrested For Assault With Deadly Weapon, Criminal Threats

Danville police say they arrested a 27-year-old man from Danville who barricaded himself inside a Glasgow Circle home for several hours.

DANVILLE, CA - Danville police are releasing new information on police activity near Glasgow Circle Friday.

On Friday at 11:28 a.m., Danville police responded to reports of assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats.

Danville Police Department Chief Allan Shields told Patch that suspect Diego Alfaro, a 27-year-old from Danville, barricaded himself in his home and refused to come out. Shields said that Danville officers and sheriff’s deputies negotiated with Alfaro for several hours before he eventually surrendered.

Alfaro was booked into the Martinez Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon (which was not a firearm, according to Shields), criminal threats, and felony vandalism. He is being held on $100,000 bail.

Danville police sent a notification around noon Friday advising the public to avoid the area around Glasgow Circle. At 4:20 p.m. they announced that a suspect had been taken into custody.
