Danville Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Assaulting His Father

24-year-old Kevin Xu assaulted his father with a deadly weapon and then fled, resulting in an extensive search, Danville police say.

DANVILLE, CA — A 24-year-old Danville resident was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his father with a deadly weapon, police said.

On Saturday at 2:18 p.m., Danville police responded to reports of a disturbance on the 200 block of Glasgow Circle, DPD said in a news release. Upon arrival, officers found that a man had been assaulted with a deadly weapon, though they did not specify which type of weapon. The man’s son, Kevin Xu, had fled the scene by the time offices arrived.

Police issued a warrant for his arrest, and conducted extensive searches in and around Glasgow Circle. On Sunday morning at 6:38 a.m., officers located Xu on Grassland Court, and successfully apprehended him after setting up a perimeter in the area.

Xu was booked and remains in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility, police said. He has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Resisting Arrest. The case will be forwarded later this week to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.
