Danville Police Offering Vacation House Checks
Officers and volunteers will check on resident home exteriors while they're away.

DANVILLE, CA — The sweltering heat may be making some Danville residents want to skip town for a bit.
If you do, you can sign up for a vacation house check with the Danville Police Department, which will authorize DPD officers and volunteers to periodically check the exterior of your home to make sure everything looks alright. To sign up for the service, fill out this form, which will tell officers everything they need to know about alarms, light timers, pets, caretakers, and vacation plans.
Before leaving, residents are advised to ask a neighbor to collect mail or packages, avoid posting travel plans on social media until you return, and use timers to turn lights on and off.
