Danville Seeking Artists For Fall Juried Exhibition

"Art in the Dark," which will debut in October, will feature indoor and outdoor art reflecting on concepts of light, darkness, and shadows.

DANVILLE, CA — The town of Danville is inviting artists to submit original artwork for the town's 16th Annual Juried Exhibition, which open in October at the Village Theatre Art Gallery.

The exhibition, called "Art in the Dark" will explore light, shadows, nighttime imagery, mystery and transformation. It will feature bot indoor and outdoor artwork, and pieces should incorporate some element of illumination, glowing, or light-based elements.

A variety of mediums will be accepted, including paintings, drawings, mixed media, and sculptures. Indoor submissions may include two or three-dimensional work, such as wall-mounted pieces or free-standing sculptures on pedestals. Outdoor submissions will feature two-dimensional, illuminated mural designs installed on exterior metal walls.

Artists may submit up to four pieces. Submissions are due here by Friday, July 17 at 5 p.m. Artwork will be reviewed and selected by a panel of judges.
