Danville Students Encouraged To Submit Films, Community Piano Designs

DANVILLE, CA — Danville is calling middle and high school students to share their creativity with the community.

First, the town is seeking submissions for its annual Community Pianos project. From June 1 to Labor Day, two pianos decorated by a community member will be in a public spot downtown for all to enjoy. Students interested in participating are encouraged to submit one colored sketch of their proposed design by 5 p.m. May 8. Selected artists will be notified by May 15, and piano painting will take place from May 25-31 at the Danville Community Center and the Danville Senior Center.

SRVUSD filmmakers in middle and high school are also encouraged to submit films for the Town of Danville’s 2026 Student Film Festival. Students may submit films on a topic of their choice, as long as all entries are appropriate for public viewing and meet PG rating standards. Film submissions are due by 5 p.m. on July 13, and participants will be notified on July 20. The community screening will take place at the Village Theatre on Aug. 7 at 6:30 p.m. See here to apply.
