Danville Veterans Day Event: Women Veterans Panel

Plan to attend a panel discussion by women veterans titled “IT’S NOT YOUR FATHER’S WAR-CHANGE HAS HAPPENED”. The panel discussion is set for 1:00 pm Saturday, November 7 at the Veterans Memorial Building in Danville.

This lively discussion will explore how the role of women serving in our nation’s military has undergone a dramatic transformation. Captain Lorrie Sammons, US Navy (Ret) will moderate the program with a blue ribbon panel of veterans including:

-Captain Jacquelyn Perr, US Air Force Reserve-Aircraft Maintenance Officer

-Captain Janice Smith, US Navy (Ret)-International Humanitarian Care, Thailand

-Rear Admiral Mary O’Donnell, US Coast Guard (Ret)-Senior Leadership-Uniformed Services

-A Captain, US Army Reserve-Cultural Support, Special Forces Afghanistan is also scheduled to participate.

The public is invited to this event which is the highlight of a two day Open House just prior to Veterans Day. It is certain to be informative and educational for visitors of all ages.

Admission is FREE.

The Veterans Memorial Building is located at 400 Hartz Avenue in Danville.

Open House hours are 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, Nov 7 and 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday, Nov 8.

Docents will be available to guide guests around the displays.
