Danville War Memorial Vandalized, $6500 Reward Offered

The graffiti was discovered at All Wars Memorial on Monday morning.

Police officials say a hefty reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects who defaced the All Wars Memorial in Danville over the weekend.

According to a statement released by police, the damage was discovered in the morning on June 8. The granite benches and pathways were found sprayed with red and black spray paint.

The memorial is located at Oak Hill Park in Danville and community members, along with the Town of Danville, have already collected $6500 to use as a reward to help catch the vandals. Officials said the damage is believed to have occurred late on Sunday night.

“The All Wars Memorial is dedicated to honoring the men and women who served our country,” said Police Chief Steve Simpkins. “We hope that this reward will help lead our investigators find out who committed this disgraceful crime.”
