Danville's Old Oak Tree Lighting Scheduled For Nov. 25

The community will celebrate the start of the holidays with a tree-lighting, choral performances, and a visit from Santa.

DANVILLE, CA – Danville is getting ready to tie lots of lights around the Old Oak Tree as part of its annual holiday lighting ceremony.

The community is invited to watch the lighting of the tree on Friday, Nov. 25 at the Old Oak Tree on Diablo Road between West El Pintado and the 680 freeway.

The event will begin at 5:15 with performances from the Danville Girls Chorus, the San Ramon Valley High School Choir and Monte Vista Chamber Singers, and greetings from Danville Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Judy Lloyd as well as Danville Mayor Newell Arnerich. Santa Claus and the Snow Angel will lead the crowd in a countdown to the lighting of the tree at 6:30. The lighting will then be followed by additional choir performances, and holiday deals from downtown shops.

Portions of Hartz Avenue, Diablo Road, Prospect Avenue, El Pintado, Front Street, and Linda Mesa Avenue will be closed from 4 p.m. to approximately 9 p.m., with a portion of Diablo Road closed from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. A full closure map can be found here.
