Devil Mountain Run Featuring Dog Race, Kids Race, 'Mile Of Truth', & More

Danville's iconic day of races is happening in May and is open for registration.

DANVILLE, CA — One of Danville’s most iconic runs is returning for its 46th year. On May 3, the Devil Mountain Run will return to Danville with a number of different races for all ages, abilities, and even species.

The signature event is the Mile of the Truth, in which the fastest mile runners can win up to $600. Heats comprising different ages and genders will compete every 10 minutes from 9:15 to 10:05. The top 3 winners between the ages of 15 and 39 will compete to race in the elite category. The first place winner of the Women’s and Men’s Elite races will win $600, followed by $250 for 2nd place, $150 for 3rd place, and $100 for 4th place.

The Devil Mountain Fun Run 5K is a flat and fast course going through downtown and some of the most scenic parts of the Iron Horse Trail. It is open to all ages, and participants can run or walk.

The Flat and Fast 10K takes runners through the El Pintado neighborhood just off El Cerro Boulevard.

The Kids Fun Run will be held on Railroad Avenue at 10:30 a.m. Each participant will receive a bib and special finishers medal.

The day isn’t limited to humans. Dogs can compete in the Buddi Love Dog Mile for runners. Dogs must be friendly and on leash, and preferably in costume. Winners will win prizes and goody bags.
