Diablo Water Polo Club Wins TYR Champions Cup

Local girls battle to win the cup!

Lewisville, TX - November 9 - The 2014 TYR Champions Cup (14 and under division) concluded on Sunday at the Lewisville ISD Westside Aquatic Center and when the action finished the girls of Diablo Water Polo Club were crowned champions. In a battle amongst the two top teams, Diablo defeated Rose Bowl 10-8 to claim the gold medal.

Prior to the first game, the Maureen O’Toole Sportsmanship Award was presented to athletes from each team competing at the TYR Champions Cup. O’Toole has a storied history within USA Water Polo as she was a key member of the USA Women’s Olympic Water Polo Team that won silver at the 2000 Olympic Games, the first to ever offer women’s water polo.
