Do You Want a Great Blue Heron to Visit Your Yard?

Put in a pond and fill it with fish! Most stories that I hear, involving  an encounter with a great blue heron, usually involves water. Water to a heron, means that there will be some type of food nearby. Although herons do eat bugs, grubs, mice, and even gophers, fish is their favorite.
It had only been one day since we had put the fish in our newly completed ponds. And here comes, Henry the Heron. It was like he had been watching and waiting, knowing we would eventually add fish to the two big holes. He was right. That was ten years ago, and we have been friends ever since. Just in case you were wondering, no, there are no fish left in the ponds. But Henry the Heron still visits.
Celebrate and enjoy nature everyday!
