Udell, who is quickly approaching her 41st birthday, loves local designers, vintage hand-me-downs and her new edgy haircut.

I love your hair! Tell me about your cut. I just got it cut at by Jessica Cox. I love it! It's kind of new, the bangs are a new thing. It's a great thing for turning 41.

What are you wearing? The shirt is by GGBlue, a designer from Lafayette. The jacket is Andrew Marc. The jeans are Calvin Klein, and I bought the boots in New York. I miss New York – I moved from there four years ago with my husband. I'm also wearing a cuff by Bombshell Betty that's made with old theater seat numbers, my mom's bracelet and a bracelet my husband gave me for my 40th birthday.

Describe your signature style. I try to be edgier than most—not so traditional. And I'm an '80s girl, so I have to throw something in it that's a little '80s.

Where do you like to shop? If money were no object, I'd be in San Francisco every weekend. But overall, I prefer boutiques over say, Nordstrom.

What do you like when it comes to accessories? I like things that are different, that you wouldn't see everybody wearing. You want to be trendy, but you also want to make it your own.

Who is your celebrity fashion inspiration? Honestly, it's really not a celeb—I like to look at other people.

Name a few items in your closet that you couldn't live without. Shoes are my favorite. There isn't just one pair. It's rare to see me in flat shoes. I think everybody should have shoes in every color. I also try to wear a piece of jewelry that belonged to my mother, who is no longer with me. Even if it's an old brooch, I can build a little outfit around it.
