Author Summer Wood will visit Read to discuss her new novel, "Wrecker." Wecker is a toddler (named for his destructive tendencies) living in 1968 San Francisco with his mother, a woman struggling to provide a living for her son. When a string of bad decisions results in his mother's arrest and imprisonment, Wrecker goes to live with family he's never met in Humboldt County. It's the story of Wrecker and the motley group of isolated people that comes together to raise him and become a family.
