Fatal Crash On I-680 In Contra Costa County: All Lanes Cleared
Although alcohol bottles were found in the deceased's vehicle, it is not known yet whether DUI played a factor in the crash.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Lanes have been cleared on southbound I-680 in Walnut Creek after an early morning crash Friday left a 38-year-old Hayward man dead, the California Highway Patrol reported.
At approximately 1:59 a.m., a Nissan driver veered across the lanes, from right to left, and collided into the back of a dump truck. The sedan rolled and smashed into a concrete center divider.
The Nissan driver had to be extricated from the wreckage and was pronounced dead at the scene. It appeared he was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the CHP. His identity has not been released.
