Field Moratorium Ends

Danville sports fields re-opened Sunday.

With more rain forecast for this week, there is a possibility that the fields may have to be closed down again. Town maintainance services manager Jed Johnson said ongoing rainfall often forces the town to keep the fields closed.

"My staff still has some work to do on all of the infields," Johnson said. "Also our contractor will be mowing the turf as weather conditions allow."

The town closes the natural grass fields maintained by the town and the San Ramon Valley Unified School district from December to March to preserve the natural grass fields. The closure includes the dog park at Hap Magee Ranch Park.
