The former owner of Danville Karate International was convicted Friday of molesting teen boy students over a seven-year span.
DANVILLE, CA — A former Danville karate instructor was convicted Friday of molesting two teen students over seven years, the Bay Area News Group reported.
Ramon Pruitt, 66, the former co-owner of Danville Karate International, was convicted of several felonies, including many counts of committing a lewd act upon a child. He will be sentenced Jan. 13, though his defense has said that it plans to appeal the case. If the conviction holds, he could face more than a decade in state prison.
Pruitt was arrested in February 2020 when four alleged victims came forward. He was released amid the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 in lieu of a $500,000 bail and has been out of custody since, according to the Bay Area News Group.
