Freshman baseball: MV no-hits De La Salle

Monte Vista High freshmen pitchers Brad Archibald and Mark Hirsch combined to no-hit the De La Salle's freshman baseball team in a 7-0 win at home on Wednesday

Archibald started and went four frames, while Hirsch had five strikeouts in his three innings of work.

Rightfielder Michael Bartz made a running catch of a line drive in the fourth inning and third baseman Sam Sarver made a nifty play on a bunt in the sixth to thwart the Spartans' best chances for a base hit.

Mustang left fielder Brad Hanna paced the offense with three hits and five RBIs.
