DANVILLE, CA - San Ramon Valley Boulevard in Danville is closed between Elworthy Ranch Road and Jewel Terrace due to a gas leak.

According to police, the gas pipe was accidentally ruptured shortly before 11:30 a.m. by a contractor working south of Jewel Terrace. PG&E, Danville Police and the San Ramon Fire Protection District are on scene.

The road will partially reopen once the leak is closed off, police said. The estimated time of reopening is after 3 p.m.

“Motorists heading south on San Ramon Valley Boulevard should take Sycamore Valley Road over to Camino Ramon to avoid the closure. Traffic going north should exit the boulevard at Greenbrook Drive to Camino Ramon,” police said in a release.
