Green Comet At Closest Approach: Danville Photo Of The Day
Danville resident Bob Schiff captured Comet C/2022 E3 at its closest point to Earth since the Stone Age.

DANVILLE, CA — Bob Schiff shared another photo of Comet C/2022 E3, also known as the Green Comet for obvious reasons, as it hurtled past Earth. Even though it is 27 million miles away - the closest it's been in 50,000 years to Earth and probably the closest it will ever be again - its green light still lit up skies around the world.
To catch a glimpse, head to a part of the sky as free of light pollution as you can manage, look up to the north just after sunset, and look for a faint greenish glow. The comet will likely be visible to the naked eye, but a telescope or a good pair of binoculars will certainly help.
See here for more information on how to view the comet.
