'Harry Potter' Birthday Bash Coming To Danville

DANVILLE, CA — The Town of Danville will be transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on July 31 — and everyone is invited to join the fantasy as part of the 2nd annual "Harry Potter" Birthday Bash.

Aspiring young wizards and witches will practice spells, play Quidditch, and take a potions class, or go on a journey through every "Harry Potter" book during the story walk. There will also be games and magical prizes.

The Village Theatre will be screening "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone" during the birthday bash, and the Danville Library will host "Harry Potter" activities throughout the week and on July 31: Fantastic Beasts Scavenger Hunt: July 29-Aug. 4; Trivia Tests: July 29-Aug. 4; Hogwarts Wizarding School: July 31 at 11:15 a.m.

Costumes are encouraged for all events.m

The birthday festivities start at 12 p.m. on July 31 at the Danville Community Center, 420 Front St. Cost is $5 per child. Visit www.danville.ca.gov/recguide to register and use activity code 20986.

Tickets for the movie screening at Village Theatre are $5 general admission and can be purchased by calling (925) 314-3400 or by visiting www.danville.ca.gov/villagetheatre. Seating begins at 3:30 p.m. and the movie starts at 4 p.m.
