In Honor Of Mark Miller
Mark Miller loved family, friends, running on Mt. Diablo and doing good. A service will be held Saturday, Feb. 15 in Danville.

Mark Miller, of Livermore CA, passed away on December 21, 2019 at the age of 63. He was surrounded by his closest family and friends. Son of Mary-Jane and Robert Miller, Mark was born on July, 30 1956 in Coronado, CA.
Mark was best known for his contagious laugh, witty sense of humor, and his loving and generous nature. He was a compassionate, sociable person who lent a helping hand wherever he went, with a unique ability to make people feel special. Mark was an ambitious, intelligent, hard worker, known to be goofy at times. He was extremely athletic, a caring and supportive father, and a loyal friend.
Mark was a graduate of Coronado High School and California State University Stanislaus. Quite active in college, he worked on the student newspaper, served as president of the associated student body and was a founding member of the local chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity. He also played a prominent role in representing student government statewide.

After college, Mark and his business partner started an alarm company, becoming the second-largest in Northern California. After selling the company, he remained in the industry for a while, consulting and working on several projects. Mark had a strong passion for running, which led him to his last position as General Manager at the Pleasanton branch of Fleet Feet. Working at Fleet Feet allowed him the opportunity to share his love for the sport with others.
Mark was a long time resident of Alamo, California. It was here that he began a family with his loving wife of 28 years, and they raised their two children, Jenny and Ryan, together. He was actively involved in the community and enjoyed coaching his children’s soccer and baseball teams. Mark also played an influential role on the Board of Trustees for the Child Abuse Prevention Council Of Contra Costa County. This was a cause he held very near and dear to his heart.

One of Mark’s favorite activities was to go running on Mt. Diablo. He competed in numerous marathons and triathlons, including Alcatraz, Bay to Breakers, and what he considered to be his biggest achievement, the IRONMAN triathlon in Canada. Mark loved working with his church, San Ramon Valley United Methodist, and served as the president on the Board of Trustees. His duties included helping with remodels of parts of the church, closely working with the Trinity Center where he delivered lunches to the homeless, as well as with SOD Busters on restoring the landscape around the church.
Mark had a wonderful way of defusing difficult situations with humor and warmth, and often extended a helping hand to those less fortunate. He especially had a soft spot for helping children and animals in need. Mark remained a close friend to dozens of his fraternity brothers for nearly 40 years.
He is fondly remembered and forever missed by his daughter, Jennifer Miller of Concord, CA. His son, Ryan Miller, daughter-in-law Sarah Miller, and granddaughter Abigail Miller of La Mirada, CA. Sister, Elizabeth Miller of San Leandro, CA. Marlene Miller of Roseville, CA. Best friend and brother, Edward Ashcraft of Elk Grove, CA and long time love and friend, Kim Maier Of Dublin, CA.
Family and Friends are invited to attend memorial services (A Celebration of Life). It will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at San Ramon Valley United Methodist Church. 920 Danville Blvd., Alamo, CA 94507.
