Hospice East Bay To Honor Lost Loved Ones At Virtual Event
Tune in Friday to Hospice East Bay's 34th annual Tree of Lights ceremony in Danville, to honor patients who have died.

DANVILLE, CA — Hospice East Bay will honor patients who have died Friday evening at its 34th annual Tree of Lights ceremony in Danville.
The nonprofit, which provides hospice care to patients regardless of their ability to pay, holds this event to give friends and loved ones a chance to honor the dead as patients' names are read. Proceeds from the event will help Hospice East Bay to serve patients who receive services that are not covered by insurance, according to the organization's website.
The tree-lighting event originated in Danville after a patient's widow decided to form a San Ramon Valley hospice support group to educate others on hospice and raise money for the organization, according to East Bay Hospice. The event grew bigger and bigger over the years and expanded to locations across Contra Costa.
