A BRAND NEW PLAY BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE!
Synergy Theater, the Bay Area home for comedy improvisation, debuts at the Village Theatre and Art Gallery at 233 Front Street, Danville, CA 94526, with its tour de force performance of Spontaneous Shakespeare!, a completely improvised two-act play in the style of the Immortal Bard. Spontaneous Shakespeare! performs on Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 8:00 pm. Tickets and info at www.VillageTheatreShows.com
“We do our best to emulate the style rather than send it up.” Explains Synergy Theater’s Artistic Director, Kenn Adams. “We read his plays and we try to figure out just what makes Shakespeare Shakespeare. As it turns out, his plays are full of outrageous comedy. Bawdy humor, double-entendres, wild disguises, mistaken identities, broad physical humor, and a lot of very groan-worthy puns and wordplay. He really had a knack for some very low comedy. And, naughty, too!”

“Shakespeare made up words!” says recent company member Alexander Chase, “Which is great because whenever you can’t think of the word you want you can just cerebriate a new one.”
“Shakespeare has it all,” adds Synergy veteran Justin Carns. “Action, comedy, magic, romance. And, of course, a gift for language that’s a lot of fun to try and keep up with. The guy was good.”
