ALAMO, CA — The California Highway Patrol and San Ramon Valley Fire helped airlift an injured mountain biker in the hills above Alamo, one of three calls that the two air divisions helped answer Saturday.

According to CHP, a biker was stranded on a washed-out fire trail. SRVFPD paramedics determined that the patient needed to be airlifted. CHP Golden Gate Division Air Operations, also known as CHP H-30, lowered a helicopter rescue technician to the scene and placed the patient in a rescue device. H-30 hoisted the patient from the scene and transported him to an ambulance, which took him to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On Sunday afternoon, CHP H-30 worked with the Vallejo Fire Department to rescue a paraglider who crashed. H-30 said they flew the patient to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where she is being treated for major injuries.
