Kids Win Cash in Local Contest

The Exchange Club of San Ramon Valley has announced the winners in its 9-11 Remembrance essay contest.

The students addressed the topic: “Why Do We Have a Memorial Program on September 11?”

Here are the winners--

High School:

• First Place, Sophia Collello, $300, 10th grade, Carondelet
• Second Place Tie, Lauren Hui, $200, 10th grade, Diablo Valley High
• Second Place Tie. Alex Collello, $200, 10th grade, De La Salle

Intermediate:

• First Place, Sophia Kraskowsky, $150, 5th grade, Bollinger Canyon

Primary:

• First Place, Kyle Lew, $75, 4th grade, Hidden Hills
• Second Place, Meghan Nix, $55, 4th grade, Green Valley
• Third Place, Shannon Nix, $35, 3rd grade, Green Valley
