LOCAL CYCLISTS PEDAL 3000 MILES ACROSS THE USA TO FIGHT BREAST CANCER

COAST to COAST cycling fundraiser in memory of Laura Bartron #FightsBreastCancer and benefits local charity Lazarex Cancer Foundation.

On June 14, Bay Area residents Nick Bloisa (70, Alameda) and Rick Perez (69, Orinda) – who maybe should have better sense – will launch their cycling adventure from Santa Monica, CA to St. Augustine, FL as a fundraiser in memory of Laura Bartron, a close friend of Nick’s, who succumbed to breast cancer at the all too young age of 45. Although her life was far too short, Laura, who worked as a Nutritionist at Renaissance Club Sport in Walnut Creek, CA, touched upon and enriched the lives of numerous others. Rick and Nick are determined to help FIGHT BREAST CANCER with an epic 3,000 mile bicycle journey that will cross the USA. laurasride.org

Through this adventure, Laura’s Ride will raise funds for the Danville based Lazarex Cancer Foundation in support of patients fighting breast cancer and to help move breast cancer research forward. Their goal is to raise $100,000. Lazarex is a one of a kind non-profit that offers financial assistance directly to advanced stage cancer patients, enabling them to access potentially life-saving treatments available through FDA clinical trials. To learn more go to lazarex.org. The ride will also help spread awareness about the importance of breast cancer screenings, early detection and clinical trials as a treatment option.

Lazarex has financially assisted 181 breast cancer patients with costs for FDA clinical trial participation!
