May 12 is ME Awareness Day

The Trivalley area has thousands that are ill with ME/CFS, a nasty acquired neurological disease that is more common than AIDS, worse than AIDS and has no good diagnostics or Cures, due to 3 decades of neglect by Conress, President, HHS, NIH, CDC. Approx 85% are not diagnosed, and most will never recover. We know people in Danville, San Ramon, Dublin with this disease that can take away your ability to function, lead to "brain fog", difficulty thinking, staying awake, sleeping, can have pain, many other metabolic issues. This medical, physiological disease needs $250M/yr NIH funding to understand biochemistry, develop biomarkers, treatments and cures. It is often triggered by a viral illness, but instead of getting well, the body may begin attacking itself, so has no cure. This is perhaps most common chronic disease to lead to dropping out of high school or college, often never to return since most never recover.
