Meet Children's Author Sondra Perry

"The Most Unusual Pet Ever, Henry our Great Blue Heron and His Adventures" and "Baby Carrots, Carrots of Wisdom for Little Ones" are two books inspired by a real great blue heron who has been visiting the authors backyard for the last 13 years, and her desire to share this natural friendship with others. Crunchy Carrots, the second installment in the Carrot Series is due out soon!

Sondra lives in San Ramon with her husband and a visiting great blue heron. Once a chef with a catering company and then a maker and distributor of handmade soap, Sondra now turns her talents toward writing children's books. Becoming a step mother of three and a visit from a great blue heron has been her inspiration. Sharing the story of Henry the Heron with others and encouraging a friendship with nature, is her passion.

Sondra has been to countless schools in the SRVUSD and beyond engaging children and setting a spark to their love and understanding of wildlife. Through the retelling of her unique friendship with Henry kids get a chance to see just how close we all are to nature in so many different ways.
