Missing Danville Man Found Safe
Man missing since Thursday afternoon located in San Jose

Danville Police are reporting that missing Danville resident Eugene Joseph Bauer, 80, was found early this morning. Bauer was reported missing Friday by family who say he left Thursday afternoon.
A Silver Alert was issued through CHP. Danville Police, Contra Costa Search and Rescue and many other departments engaged in a search for the man, who has dementia. Bauer was located at a hotel by San Jose Police Department around 2:00 a.m. He is listed in good condition.

Police Chief Steve Simpkins said he was grateful for the positive outcome in this situation and for all of the help the Danville Police Department received in finding Bauer.
“We had a great response from law enforcement and from the community,” Simpkins said. “Residents were calling our officers with tips, which can often make the difference in resolving situations like these.”
