
Mt. Diablo, CA -A grass fire that sparked on the base of Mount Diablo State Park in Clayton this morning has been contained after spreading across 49 acres, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District officials said.
The fire was reported at 11:06 a.m. in the area of the 400 block of Mountaire Parkway in the Mitchell Canyon area of the park and spread to 25 acres as of shortly after noon, fire officials said.
The flames were initially threatening several structures in the area, but fire officials wrote on Twitter at 12:45 p.m. that the blaze had been contained with no structures damaged and no injuries reported.
