Monte Vista had the automatic bid from the East Bay Athletic League after finishing the regular season 20-0 and is the top seed and heavy favorite on the girls' side. The Mustangs have a first-round bye — only 15 teams qualified — and will host the winner of No. 8 Granada (10-10) and Marin Catholic (16-4) on either Friday or Saturday at 7 p.m.
Despite a 5-15 record, the San Ramon Valley girls team earned an at-large bid and the No. 14 see. According to the NCS website, the Wolves will host No. 3 Carondelet (15-5) at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
