NSF's goal is to raise $5,000 and bring in 100 new followers by Aug. 31st.

Press release from Nephrotic Syndrome Foundation:

Danville, Calif, (August 11, 2021) - The Nephrotic Syndrome Foundation (NSF), a non-profit
organization supporting children diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome, invites the world to “Make a SPLASH” to raise awareness and funds for children battling a serious and rare kidney-related
autoimmune disease. Through the month of August, supporters can jump into a pool, lake, ocean or ANY body of water, post their splash to social media, and tag NSF to spread awareness and encourage donations to fund patient programs. Those who prefer can also make a SPLASH by hosting a lemonade stand in support! NSF’s goal is to raise $5,000 and bring in 100 new followers by Aug. 31st.

“We love seeing our community turn a regular day at the pool or beach into an opportunity to make a difference for kids. Every jump, splash or dollar raised helps spread awareness and bring critical funds to support children impacted by Nephrotic Syndrome, making a HUGE difference for this underserved community of young warriors!” says President and Founder, Andi Callaway.

Throughout the Covid shutdown, NSF has greatly expanded its efforts to 8 patient support programs. NSF recently welcomed patients and families from around the world for a virtual version of Camp NSF and mailed Backpacks of Hope personalized care packages to over 200 pediatric patient families. Additionally, the organization has led peer mentor team sessions, where older teens and young adults support younger patients with Nephrotic Syndrome. It’s Finding Health series has also been instrumental to patient families providing information on how to manage school, life and tools and teachings on mental health. Last month they teamed up with UCSF’s Pediatric Nephrology and Infectious Disease Departments to offer their patient families a session and Q&A on the COVID-19 vaccine and kids with Nephrotic Syndrome. Most recently, Callaway launched a podcast, bringing on guests to share inspirational stories, struggle and connect with others battling Nephrotic Syndrome.

All funds raised through NSF’s Summer Splash go to support patient programs. For further information please visit our website here and donate to Summer Splash here. NSF’s Summer Splash is proudly sponsored by Cannon Ball Sponsor, B. Allan Jewelers and Summer Splash Sponsors, Alta American Pools, Hazy BBQ, Drs. About Nephrotic Syndrome Foundation
The Nephrotic Syndrome Foundation (NSF) is a non-profit organization supporting those diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome, their families and the ongoing search for a cure. Nephrotic Syndrome is a serious and rare auto-immune disease that attacks the kidneys causing them to shut down. There is no known cause or cure. Treatments are extremely limited and consist primarily of steroids, cancer, and transplant medications. Many patients are children who spend a major part of their life in and out of the hospital, trying to find a treatment that keeps them in remission while managing the side effects.

Receiving this diagnosis is life-changing. It can take the breath out of any parent or child who finds themselves in this situation. Our goal at NSF is to meet each family and child in these tough times and lift each one up as best we can by providing financial and emotional support to help them weather the times to better health, acceptance, and adjustment.
