NFL Player Partners With Danville Nonprofit NSF
Fred Brown of the Denver Broncos and My Cause My Cleats have partnered with Danville-based Nephrotic Syndrome Foundation.
DANVILLE, CA — The Nephrotic Syndrome Foundation, a Danville nonprofit that supports those diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome and their families, was chosen by NFL Denver Bronco Fred Brown for My Cause My Cleats. The campaign allows players to express their commitment to the causes that are most important to them.
"We are honored to partner with Fred Brown of the Denver Broncos and My Cause My Cleats to raise awareness and support for families impacted by nephrotic syndrome,” said Andi Callaway, NSF president and founder. “This type of community, and incredible people like Fred Brown, are what it takes to make miracles happen in the world of rare disease.”
Nephrotic syndrome is a life-threatening kidney disorder without a cure that is managed through drug therapy. The condition causes a person’s body to excrete too much protein in their urine, causing damage to the kidneys.

NSF supports patients in a myriad of ways, including through their Backpacks of Hope program that offers each new patient connection to others on the same journey and a backpack full of valuable medical supplies, educational materials and comfort items; $250 covers the cost of each backpack.
“We have 213 children waiting for a 'Backpack of Hope' from our Foundation as we speak,” Callaway said. “It's our hope that this will be the springboard we need to raise funds to provide this type of support to every child diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, not only in our local community, but across the US."
